L’exposition présente le travail qu’Henry Leutwyler a réalisé à partir des archives du photographe Philippe Halsman. Mettant en scène ses innombrables affaires personnelles, il créer une biographie du célèbre photographe au travers de ses objets.
Né en Suisse et vivant à New York, le photographe Henry Leutwyler découvre en 1979, à 17 ans, le travail de Philippe Halsman à l’International Center of Photography (ICP) à New York, un mois après le décès de cette figure majeure de la photographie du XXe siècle. 38 ans plus tard, en 2017, Leutwyler plonge au cœur des archives d’Halsman. Il passe plusieurs mois à mettre en scène ses innombrables affaires personnelles pour créer une biographie du célèbre photographe au travers de ses objets. En ressort le projet inédit “Philippe Halsman. A Photographer’s Life”, livre décliné en une exposition co-produite avec la Biennale Images Vevey.
