Bilder machen Leute: Promis vor der Linse
From A for Abel Heidi to Z for Zurbriggen Pirmin. For the digital picture show from the Ringier Picture Archive (RBA), we took a close look at celebrity pictures and tracked down the magic formula for effective poses.
The digital tête-à-tête of General Henri Guisan with rocker Alice Cooper, singer Nella Martinetti with boxing legend Muhammad Ali and many others reveals amusing similarities and exciting contrasts between various celebrity images. Short accompanying texts delve deeper into the changing images and ask about the intention of the photographs and the conscious influence of the actors on both sides of the camera. In addition, a small exhibition in the stairwell provides an insight into the materiality of press photography and the filing system of the Ringier picture archive. “Celebrities in front of the lens” is a continuation of the 2016 photo exhibition.
Opening on September 19, 2024, from 6 p.m. with a talk with the people’s journalist and photo reporter André Häfliger.
