Taj Mahal, Eiffel Tower or the pyramids of Teotihuacán: On the occasion of the European Heritage Day, we open the display archive of the Ringier Bildarchiv (RBA), browse through thousands of original prints and negatives and explore the global journeys of architectural images with the help of press photography.
Visitors can browse through dossiers labelled by countries on the subject of architecture and discover what buildings have been archived alongside the well-known landmarks. The ATP photo agency (and later Ringier) operated a large network of photo agencies and publishers, traces of which can still be seen in the archive today.
The display archive (Schauarchiv): it is a miniature version of the Ringier Bildarchiv (RBA) and invites visitors to browse through the treasure trove of press photographs. Thousands of negatives, original enlargements and captions written by the press agency provide an insight into the stories behind the headlines and thousands of unpublished photographs. Browse through this visual encyclopaedia of the 20th century according to your own interests!
Short guided tour and independent browsing through press photographs from the Ringier Image Archive. Entry possible at any time, input starts at 14.00, 15.00 and 16.00.
